Abstract

Several interesting studies were presented. The most interesting for me—even though I am familiar with the data because they were presented at the World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer in Barcelona in June—was the VELOUR trial, a study comparing in second-line FOLFIRI (irinotecan/5-FU) in combination with aflibercept (VEGF-trap) to FOLFIRI with placebo.1 This study demonstrated an OS benefit of an 18% reduction of the risk of death, which is highly significant.Progression-free survival (PFS)...
