TEAM Trial Results: Critical Analysis

(00:04:09) Elsevier Global Medical News, 2008 Dec 12, K Wachter

Dr. Hope Rugo is Director, Breast Oncology Clinical Trials Program, University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Rugo discusses various factors that complicate interpretation of the initial results of the Tamoxifen Exemestane Adjuvant Multinational (TEAM trial), presented at SABCS 2008. Particularly important, says Dr. Rugo, is the fact that 30% and 20% of patients randomized to tamoxifen and exemestane, respectively, discontinued their assigned drug prior to a protocol-amended crossover of all participants to exemestane at 2.75 years.
