Triple Therapy for CLL

(00:04:11) Elsevier Global Medical News, 2008 Dec 7, R Finn

Dr. Tadeusz Robak is from the Medical University of Lodz, Poland. Dr. Michael Hallek is from the University of Cologne, Germany.

Adding rituximab to fludarabine and cyclophosphamide chemotherapy significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) in patients with advanced chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in 2 large, randomized, phase III trials presented by Dr. Robak and Dr. Hallek at ASH 2008. The FCR immunochemotherapy regimen proved superior in both previously untreated patients and those with relapsed or refractory chronic CLL, prolonging PFS by about 10 months in both populations.
