Erlotinib in NSCLC

(00:03:04) Elsevier Global Medical News, 2009 Jun 2, D McNamara

Dr. Vincent Miller is from the Thoracic Oncology Service, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City.

The addition of erlotinib to bevacizumab maintenance therapy for advanced non–small cell lung cancer significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) compared with bevacizumab alone, according to results of a study presented by Dr. Miller at ASCO 2009. This trial was stopped early when a blinded committee found consistently better PFS in the erlotinib-treated patients, said Dr. Miller.
