OJAI, Calif. (EGMN) - It may be safe to forgo thymectomy or biopsy in asymptomatic patients with diffusely enlarged thymus, according to a retrospective analysis of 109 patients who underwent thymectomy.Of those 109 patients, 67% had a discrete mass and 33% had a diffusely enlarged thymus (DET), Dr. Smit Singla said at the annual meeting of the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.
