CHICAGO (EGMN) - Preoperative weekly carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy with concurrent radiation resulted in superior survival vs. surgery alone in a phase III clinical trial conducted in 363 patients with esophageal or esophagogastric junction cancer. The regimen was well tolerated, with more than 90% of patients completing all five cycles.
