NEW ORLEANS (EGMN) - Omacetaxine mepesuccinate, an old drug with a new name, is making a comeback as a potential therapy for chronic myeloid leukemia with the T315I mutation that has so far been impervious to imatinib and other tyrosine kinase inhibitors.Most chronic-phase patients had a complete hematologic response, and nearly half had a cytogenetic response, in an international, single-arm, phase II trial being presented Dec. 7 at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology.All participants...
