Barbara Bekiesz

In her role as Medical Editor for OncologySTAT, Ms. Bekiesz edits journal scans, commentaries, interviews, and other editorial features. She has been a medical editor for nearly 30 years, nearly all of this time with Ciba-Geigy Corporation (later Novartis). Initially working in Ciba’s Medical Education Division, Ms. Bekiesz edited such publications as the Ciba Collection of Medical Illustrations, the Clinical Symposia monograph series, and the Atlas of Human Anatomy, all which featured the medical artwork of Dr. Frank Netter. During her tenure at Ciba and Novartis, Ms. Bekiesz also edited manuscripts, monographs, journal supplements, posters, abstracts, and patient education materials prepared in support of marketed pharmaceutical products. After leaving Novartis in 2000, she served as Editorial Director for several medical communications companies before coming to OncologySTAT. Ms. Bekiesz is a member of the American Medical Writers Association.
