Chemotherapy-induced anemia is a common occurrence in patients with cancer who are treated with chemotherapy. Although erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) are effective therapy for management of chemotherapy-induced anemia, their use is controversial because of concerns regarding reduced overall survival.
