The acute hematologic toxicities of fludarabine combination regimens in patients with low-grade lymphoid malignancies are well known and generally acceptable. Less information is available on the consequences of prolonged cytopenias. Gill et al report the incidence and effects of prolonged cytopenias in these patients.
