Surgery is considered standard treatment for resectable stage I non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In patients with inoperable tumors, fractionated radiotherapy (RT) of 60 to 70 Gy is recommended. Recent evidence suggests that stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) can greatly improve local control.
