Most patients with advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) who have unresectable liver metastases will develop recurrence after treatment with chemotherapy. In cases where metastases are inoperable, radioembolization using yttrium-90 (90Y) microspheres can be used, either with chemotherapy or alone, to deliver radiation therapy to hepatic lesions.
