The survival of patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) has been significantly improved by the use of combined immunochemotherapy with anti-CD20 recombinant antibody and anthracycline-based chemotherapy. Prognostic factors in this disease thus need to be reevaluated. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptor (VEGFR) have been found to be expressed in cell lines of various hematolymphoid malignancies.
