Half of all patients with colorectal cancer will develop metastasis. Chemotherapy regimens including oxaliplatin, leucovorin (LV), and 5-fluorouracil (FU) (ie, FOLFOX) are among those used to improve survival and quality of life in these patients. However, oxaliplatin is associated with severe peripheral sensory neuropathy.
