1Why this case is importantTo our knowledge, this is the first case of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) described in a HIV-2 infected patient born and living in Europe. It is also the second case described in a white person but the first described in a female. Our case shows us that HIV-2 infection is not only an infection of the African people.
