Surgical resection is the only curative therapy available for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Unfortunately, metastatic disease constitutes an absolute contraindication for surgery. Therefore, the detection of metastatic disease is a critical component of preoperative imaging of pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
