Bio
Biographical Sketch:Dr. Cobb is a hematologist/oncologist and the managing partner of the Hematology-Oncology Centers of the Northern Rockies, a 9-physician practice in Billings, Montana. In addition, Dr. Cobb serves as a staff physician at St. Vincent Healthcare, also in Billings. He is also immediate past president of Community Oncology Alliance (COA), a national advocacy group for cancer patients and oncology practices, and current chair of the COA Policy Committee.
Dr. Cobb received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University and earned a medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed internship and residency training at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. While serving as an oncologist in the Army for 4 years, he helped direct the developmental therapeutics and phase I programs at Brooke. After completing his military obligation, he joined Hematology-Oncology Centers. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Cobb holds additional certification in medical oncology and hematology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Cobb is a member of various professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the National Surgical Bowel and Breast Project, and the Southwest Oncology Group. He has served these and other organizations and institutions in numerous administrative capacities. At St. Vincent Hospital, he was Director of the Stem Cell Transplant Program. He has been the principal investigator of the Montana Cancer Consortium and has served on the board of directors for Montana Associated Physicians, Inc., and the Northwest Research and Education Institute, as well as for COA. He is also on the board of managers for the Cancer Centers of Excellence.
Dr. Cobb has reported his research findings related to the clinical evaluation of chemotherapy agents for breast cancer, lymphoma, and other cancers at national and international conferences and in the medical literature.
